About the PSA
The Peachland Sportsmen's Association is a member club of the British Columbia Wildlife Federation (BCWF), and primarily serves Peachland and the Westside. According to the PSA Constitution, the society was formed in 1981 for the following purposes:
- To propagate, preserve and protect the fish, game, forests and related ecosystems for the present and future benefit and enjoyment of the public.
- To encourage the enactment of laws for the preservation of these resorces and to promote the observance of these laws.
- To create and foster public sentiment in favour of the protection of our natural resources.
- To educate and promote an appreciation of sportsmanlike methods in angling and hunting.
- To assist in the prevention of forest fires.
- To make known to the public the various natural resources of the district.
- To encourage the study and recording of the natural history of the fish, game, and other resources of the district.
- To educate and encourage the young people of the area to participate in and enjoy the foregoing activities.
- To do such other things that are incidental to the intent of the above aims and objectives.
Habitat conservation, restoration, education, and community projects completed by the PSA include:
- Highway fencing between Summerland and Peachland (1998, in association with the Summerland Sportsman Association)
- Construction of Deep Creek (Peachland Creek) spawning channel
- Replacement of Powers Creek spawning gravel
- Eneas Lake fish passage improvements (2001)
- Antlers Saddle winter range improvements
- Trepanier Creek vegetation restoration to assist Peachland's efforts in the 2002 Communities in Bloom competition
- Conservation and Outdoor Recreation (CORE) classes for hunter training
PSA members enjoy many benefits to membership, including:

- Third party liability insurance during outdoor recreation activities (more details available from the membership committee), now required for operation of vehicles such as snowmobiles and quads on forest service roads

- Monthly meetings featuring guest speakers (recent guest speakers include Brian Jantz (fisheries technican, BC Environment), Tom Ethier (wildlife biologist, BC Environment), Dave Smith (Department of Fisheries and Oceans), Conservation Officers, and John Holdstock (BCWF past-president)
- Access to the PSA indoor archery range
- Associate membership in the Summerland Sportsman Association, and full access to their rifle range
- Access to professional firearms training and CORE classes, with future classes for Coast Guard boat operator certification
- Annual wine and cheese social and potluck dinners
